Well Justin's LaMancha doe Andi kidded with stunning twin doelings yesterday. And Ripple will be kidding this morning. Then a break until later in the month. So far things have gone pretty well. The baby's are growing great and the does are putting the milk in the bucket!

So Cedez,first freshining 2 year old, had her own ideas about when she wanted to kid! Went out side to check everyone yesterday and she was going. Any way ,they are little, but very healthy babys 1 doeling and 1 buckling. Mom and kids are doing great!

Well it has been a while. Just busy and bad weather. So 2 FF 2 year olds due to kid in 9 days! Then a short break to the next one. With a couple of Justins LaMancha's thrown in for good measure in between. So far it has gone O.K. we will be kidding more does then ever before and have alot of babys. Not sure how it will all come out in the end.

Started vaccination boosters for the does coming due in the next few weeks. For some reason this always makes me a little nervous that they might have a bad reaction to them. But all went well. Gotta go pick up hay tomorrow. we should have good weather the rest of the week . Hopefully I can get some new updated pictures of all the baby's!

And the count down begins again! 2 first freshening 2 year olds due Feb.29th. Excited because on of them is bred to "Ace" cant wait to see what his kids look like.Then there is a pretty steady flow into June. a doe or 2 due every couple of weeks. With several of Justin's LaMancha's thrown in along the way just to liven things up some!
Wonder what the future holds?? The current kids are doing very well. I'm pretty happy with them.

Well all the baby's are growing well. I am picking up some"drop" baby's, as the breeder calls them. She runs a raw goat milk dairy and this time of year needs the milk much, much more then she needs to feed kids. So I have purchased some of them and will bottle them and re sell. The down side is my 3 does in milk cant produce enough milk for 16 kids! So I am using a replacer and mixing that with the does milk. So far its working well wnough until more does kid out.
Madonna is driving me nuts. This doe really should be milking. Her last kidding she raised trips on her own. And they grew very,very well.
But right now she is a nervous mess. Not eating much and losing weight. Her production is sadly lacking. Hopefully she will settle down soon. as our first milk test is just around the corner.
Rodeo has adopted on of those "drop" Baby's. An itty bitty girl who REFUSED to take a bottle. What an awesome doe!
At this time Cachet is out milking all of them. Did weights this morning and she did 5.5 Lbs. Go Cachet!
Rodeo, who is nursing 1 kid that we lock up over night did 3.51
and Madonna only did 3.2 :( have to find some way to get this doe "happy"

Well its been a while. So the does milk went down for a couple days in there milk production and i was getting worried. but as it turns out they simply where not happy that there "normal" grain was gone and we had to use a dry cob and were not eating.
Got a combined weight from all three of 14.8 Lbs this morning, woohoo, that averages out to 4.933 Lbs each.

Playing the waiting game again, LOL. I think Cachet is due around the 2nd. But she was pen bred and with the buck for a week so we have some room for error! Anyway she is bred to *+B SGCH Copper-Hill Breakaway's Sonset! and I am super excited about this breeding. Really hopping for at least 1 doeling but more would be so very nice.All I know is that she is HUGE.

Hey all. Madonna kidded tonight. She had trips, again. She last kidded on jan.30 2011. There are 2 doelings and one buckling. The first doe kid was breach and it was a little bit of a hard kidding. Madonna is doing well. The 2 doelings seem fine but the little boy is weak.
More later.
She milked 3 Lbs of colostrum.

Well it has been an interesting 2 days. Rodeo came down with "milk fever". I had never seen this before. Thankfully my husband had and I was able to get hold of on of our vets by phone. Im happy to say she is much,much improved today. Up and eating. She has given 1 gallon of colostrum also.
The babys are doing wonderfully. And I will try to get new pics up of them very soon. And udder shots of mom when she feels better :))

Yippee! Almost Christmas baby's! Rodeo kidded tonight with twins 1 of each.The sire is La-Di-Da Cody
Rodeo last kidded on 3/1/11 with twins. Her actual due date was 12/26/2011 so 2 days early.
Buckling: 8.15 Lbs
Doeling: 7.15 Lbs. mom and kids are doing great.
Rodeo milked out her first milking 3.5 Lbs of colostrum. I expect there will be more in the morning.There is some edema but not to bad. Top pic is the buckling bottom is both of them. Only about 30 minutes old. Will get better ones later. VERY active and one the bottle strongly. Next doe due is Madonna on 12/27/2011.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Well its getting closer...........just cant wait to see the new baby's. Funny don't think I really planned it this way but all 3 of the girls getting ready to kid will have done so 2 times in a year! Not sure how I managed that one and don't generally like to do stuff like that. Really need to get on the paperwork for DHIA oh what fun that should be!(sarcasm). Plan to try to do full 306 day lactation's as much as possible. So with does kidding over a 6 month period I figure I wont get a break from milking for OH ...I don't know 2 years or so......can u say tired, LOL.

Afternoon all,
Well got some weights on the girls this morning.
Rodeo- due the 26th is 190 LBS
Madonna-due the 27th is 195 Lbs
Cachet- est due date ( she was pen bred to a outside buck) Jan 2nd. 235 Lbs
Hmmmmm wonder how much of that is baby's lol! 6 days and counting untill the kids should be showing up. Keep watching as I post first milk weights, baby pics and udder shots!

YEA! got the does udders trimmed up this morning. They all look about half full at this point. Should be able to get half way decent pics after they kid.

Well I'm going to try to do a kidding blog this year. I think it will be fun. As of right now the first doe is due Dec. 26th. That would be Rodeo. She is pretty big this year! So be patient as I try to work my way through all this.
